Hajj Media Hub Concludes Successfully With Over 10,000 Visitors In Makkah

The Ministry of Media recently wrapped up the second edition of the Hajj Media Hub in Makkah, which took place from Dhu Al-Hijjah 5 to 8, 1446 AH. This event was part of the Unified Hajj Media Operations Center and aligned with the Pilgrim Experience Program under Saudi Vision 2030. The hub, covering 6,000 square meters, drew over 10,000 media professionals and visitors from both local and international spheres.

More than 15 government and private organisations were involved in this event. Participants included the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, National Water Company, as well as media bodies like the Saudi Press Agency and Saudi Broadcasting Authority.

Hajj Media Hub Draws Over 10,000 Visitors

The digital pavilions at the hub attracted significant attention. They showcased services provided to pilgrims through over 3,000 interactive screens and specialised media reports. The event featured more than 640 minutes of live broadcasting along with analytical reports, interviews with officials, and global reactions to the proceedings.

Equipped with comprehensive studios and live broadcast vehicles, the hub ensured uninterrupted local and international media coverage. A dedicated team managed 24/7 digital platforms from the core of the event. This setup facilitated seamless reporting for media outlets worldwide.

Over 7,000 journalists registered with the Virtual Press Center (VPC) during this period. The VPC hosted more than 397 uploaded files and supported over 263 news items and reports throughout the Hajj season. This platform proved essential for journalists covering the event remotely.

Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary introduced the "Saudi Photos Hub," a project by the Saudi Press Agency. This initiative aims to provide content creators globally with access to a visual archive in a rights-managed setting that encourages creativity.

Innovative Initiatives

The Hajj Media Hub also hosted "GRID," an initiative under the Unified Media Program by the Center for Government Communication. This program is designed to promote communication best practices among government agencies. It represents a fully integrated media environment that aids journalists in delivering innovative coverage using cutting-edge technologies for Hajj 1446 AH.

The hub's media platforms catered to over 150 local, regional, and international media outlets. This extensive reach highlighted its role as a central point for disseminating information about Hajj activities to a global audience.

This year's edition has solidified its position as an essential component of Saudi Arabia's efforts to enhance media coverage during Hajj. By leveraging advanced technology and fostering collaboration among various entities, it supports comprehensive reporting on one of Islam's most significant events.
