The Ministry of Media’s unified Hajj media operations centre recently conducted a briefing to outline the preparations for the upcoming Hajj season. Key speakers included Saleh Al-Zuwaid, spokesperson for the Hajj transportation and logistics system, and Saad Al-Shanbari, spokesperson for the Hajj communications and technology system. They discussed various aspects of readiness across different sectors.

Al-Zuwaid highlighted that all sectors, including air, land, sea, and rail, have achieved a high level of preparedness. These sectors have already started implementing their operational plans smoothly and on schedule. He mentioned that 3,314 charter flights for pilgrims have been received from 238 destinations in 71 countries, operated by 62 airlines.

Insights on Hajj Logistics and Communication

Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah has handled the majority of incoming flights at 57%, while King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah accounted for 42%. The Haramain High-Speed Railway has been offering excellent services since the start of the Hajj season. It has scheduled 4,700 trips to transport over 2 million passengers, increasing capacity by 400,000 seats compared to last year.

Saad Al-Shanbari explained that the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) is actively monitoring service quality in real-time. This ensures a reliable digital experience throughout the Hajj season. Such oversight is crucial for maintaining stable communication and technology services for pilgrims.

Al-Shanbari stressed that these efforts are part of a coordinated approach with all agencies involved in Hajj. The goal is to provide top-notch services and enhance the overall experience for pilgrims. This integrated strategy aims to meet high standards of service delivery during this significant event.

The comprehensive preparations across various sectors reflect a commitment to facilitating a smooth and efficient pilgrimage experience. By ensuring seamless operations in transportation and technology, authorities aim to enrich the spiritual journey for millions of pilgrims attending Hajj this year.
