Hafeet Rail Engages SYSTRA For Comprehensive Consultancy On Omani-Emirati Railway Network

Hafeet Rail has appointed SYSTRA, a French engineering firm, to provide consultancy services for the Omani-Emirati railway network. SYSTRA will offer comprehensive technical support, including contract management and ensuring compliance with standards. They will also oversee project schedules, review designs, and supervise execution up to the start of operations.

The UAE-Oman Rail Network is set to significantly impact infrastructure and logistics in both nations. By linking sea and land ports with manufacturing hubs and markets, it aims to boost trade and support sustainability goals. This network will enhance connectivity and contribute to climate neutrality efforts.

Ahmed Al Bulushi from Asyad Group highlighted the importance of engaging SYSTRA as a consultant. He stated, "Engaging SYSTRA, a globally recognised leader in railway and infrastructure consultancy, as our administrative and engineering consultant marks a pivotal milestone for the UAE-Oman Rail Network project." This partnership ensures adherence to international safety standards while fostering talent development in both countries.

SYSTRA's role includes managing health, environmental, safety, and security standards. They will also monitor contractor performance to ensure all requirements are met. Their involvement guarantees that the project aligns with global best practices.

Jean-Christophe Chuniaud from SYSTRA expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. He said, "Our partnership with Hafeet Rail allows us to bring our global expertise to the UAE-Oman Rail Network project." SYSTRA aims to deliver innovative engineering solutions based on their extensive experience in international railway projects.

Recently, Hafeet Rail awarded civil works contracts for the joint network to an alliance led by Trojan Construction Group (NPC) and Galfar Engineering. Additionally, Siemens and HAC were chosen for systems integration contracts to equip trains with advanced technologies.

This collaboration between Hafeet Rail and SYSTRA is expected to elevate the UAE-Oman Rail Network project by leveraging global expertise. The focus remains on achieving economic and social objectives while maintaining high international standards throughout the project's development.
