GWU And Maqta Gateway Host Introductory Meeting For Seventh Cohort Of ATLG Programme

The General Women's Union (GWU) and Maqta Gateway, part of AD Ports Group, recently introduced the seventh cohort of the ATLG programme at the Digital District. This initiative, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, aims to develop UAE National talent in trade and logistics. The programme focuses on preparing participants for future job market needs by enhancing their skills in technology and logistics.

Over its six previous batches, the ATLG programme has provided more than 100,000 training hours and over 2,500 courses. It has awarded over 1,100 accredited certificates and trained 371 participants from more than 8,300 applicants. The seventh batch alone received over 2,600 applications. Additionally, ATLG has offered specialised sessions on cybersecurity awareness to more than 100,000 participants.

Introduction of Seventh ATLG Programme Cohort

Noura Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General of the GWU, expressed enthusiasm for welcoming young Emiratis to the ATLG programme. "We are always delighted to welcome the youth of our nation to participate in ATLG training programme," she said. The collaboration with AD Ports Group aims to develop exceptional leaders who will shape the nation's future.

Dr Noura Al Dhaheri, CEO of the Digital Cluster at AD Ports Group and Maqta Gateway, highlighted the programme's alignment with UAE's goals. "On behalf of Maqta Gateway and AD Ports Group," she stated, "I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the UAE’s wise leadership." The programme is designed to enhance global competitiveness and support a knowledge-based economy.

Engineer Ghaliya Al Mannaee from GWU emphasised their commitment to providing a supportive environment for youth through strategic partnerships. She noted that these efforts aim to empower women and prepare them for active roles in society. The Union plans to expand the programme's reach to Gulf countries.

The seventh batch offers eight specialties: Business Analyst, User Interface Designer, Project Coordinator, Digital Trade Support Officer, Programmer, Data Scientist, Application Security Specialist, and Artificial Intelligence Developer. Among applicants, 167 were selected for interviews, showcasing a focus on nurturing promising talents for digital transformation.

Educational Collaboration

Professor Dr Ahmed Al Raisi from United Arab Emirates University praised the ATLG initiative as pioneering in enhancing national skills in digital technology and logistics. He expressed pride in supporting such initiatives by providing academic expertise that equips participants with essential knowledge for future challenges.

The university plays a vital role in offering professional training across various specialties within the programme. This collaboration enhances participants' technical status while preparing them for future challenges in a digital economy.

The ATLG training programme continues its mission of developing Emirati cadres' skills for leadership roles in trade and logistics sectors. By expanding its geographical scope to include Gulf countries through strategic partnerships with organisations like GWU and AD Ports Group’s Digital Cluster division under H.H Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak’s patronage; it aims at sharing expertise across borders while fostering regional cooperation among Gulf Cooperation Council nations towards building competitive knowledge-based economies together.
