Gulfood Strengthens UAE's Position As A Global Engine For Agri-trade And Food Economy
Day three of Gulfood 2026 underscored the event’s growing influence in global food and beverage trade, highlighting the UAE’s role as an international hub for agri-business and innovation, while positioning the platform as a connector between agriculture, technology, manufacturing, brands and future-focused food solutions.
Commercial activity centred on the Big Deal Hub, which worked as a high-volume marketplace for agreements, linking buyers, suppliers and emerging growth markets. Gulfood 2026 also acted as a launch stage for many new products, investments and brand entries targeting regional and international consumers.

Building on its dual-venue expansion model, Gulfood 2026 moved into a further growth phase through the launch of Gulfood360 Africa/Kenya. This extension took the platform into a new continent and placed agri-tech and innovation at the core of the farm-to-fork-to-future continuum.
The Gulfood360 Africa/Kenya initiative also aligned with wider agri-trade objectives, linking African producers with global buyers. It supported knowledge transfer in areas such as sustainable farming methods, processing technologies and value-added manufacturing, strengthening trade corridors that are important for food security discussions in the Middle East.
Ecosystem collaboration remained a central theme, as Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) and the UAE Food Cluster signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding. The agreement aimed to deepen cooperation across the food and agri-ecosystem, covering trade, innovation and support for companies operating along the supply chain.
Highlighting the impact of coordinated action, Saleh Lootah, Chairman of UAE Food Cluster, said, "The cluster strategy has brought ecosystem players together, enabling the UAE to position itself as a smart global food hub capable of addressing today’s challenges." Gulfood received an award from the UAE Food Cluster for its contribution to building a strong UAE food ecosystem and connecting food clusters worldwide.

Gulfood 2026 innovation and farm-to-fork-to-future
As Gulfood 2026 progressed, attention increasingly turned to the full farm-to-fork-to-future journey, drawing together agri-tech pioneers, food-tech start-ups and sustainability specialists. These participants worked on scaling precision aquaculture, functional nutrition and plant-based protein solutions from experimental phase to wider commercial deployment.
The Gulfood Innovation Awards reinforced this focus on creativity and quality, recognising leading entries and winners across 11 categories. The awards highlighted advances in product development, processing and packaging that support more efficient, resilient and sustainable food systems aligned with regional and global needs.
Across these developments, Gulfood 2026 strengthened its role as both a trading hub and a collaborative ecosystem, linking policy, technology, investment and innovation. The activities on day three added further weight to the UAE’s position in shaping global food networks and future supply strategies.
