Gulf Ministers Meet Slovenia on Gaza Peace

The ministers examined security conditions in the Gaza Strip and stressed the need to respect the ceasefire agreement. They underlined that all its terms should be fully carried out. Participants said sufficient, continuous humanitarian aid must reach residents of the strip to ease the crisis.

Discussions also covered political prospects for the Palestinian cause. The ministers reviewed efforts to advance the peace plan announced by US President Donald Trump and any moves towards a clear political horizon. They reaffirmed support for an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution.

Gaza Strip two-state solution and West Bank developments

The talks assessed the situation in the occupied West Bank, where ministers called for a halt to illegal unilateral Israeli measures. They also condemned Israeli violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem, warning these actions heighten tensions and weaken attempts to calm the situation.

Gaza Strip two-state solution and Slovenia’s position

The ministers praised Slovenia’s backing for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. They welcomed Slovenia’s recognition of the State of Palestine on the basis of the two-state solution. Participants viewed this position as aligned with efforts to reach a just and lasting settlement of the conflict.

Beyond the Palestinian issue, the talks addressed wider regional challenges and the importance of dialogue to reduce tensions. The ministers also discussed international efforts to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, reflecting shared concern over global stability and the impact of ongoing conflicts on regional security.
