Green Qassim Land Initiative Promotes Urban Sustainability And Enhances Quality Of Life

The Qassim Municipality is actively working to enhance the quality of life through its Green Qassim Land initiative. This effort focuses on expanding green spaces and improving the urban landscape, creating a more human-centered city environment for both residents and visitors. The initiative includes developing walkways, public facilities, and parks to provide a suitable urban setting.

In 2024, the municipality launched the "Bahjah" project, establishing 10 new parks in Buraidah with diverse designs and sizes. This project aimed to increase the per capita green space and promote sustainable development. Additionally, 20 urban interventions were carried out to improve the city's aesthetic appeal and enhance its urban environment.

Enhancing Urban Sustainability in Qassim

During the same year, 41 walking tracks were constructed in parks, squares, and public spaces across Buraidah. These tracks spanned a total length of 44,179 meters. Furthermore, significant efforts were made to plant greenery; 14,777 trees and 695,110 flowers were planted alongside over 34,500 square meters of turf grass being laid.

The municipality's efforts continued into 2025 with the planting of an additional 8,240 trees and 297,950 flowers. More than 16,000 square meters of turf grass were also laid during this period. These actions are part of a broader strategy to enhance vegetation cover throughout the region.

Through these initiatives, Qassim Municipality aims to foster environmental sustainability by promoting tree planting and environmental preservation awareness programs. Volunteer campaigns are also conducted to address visual distortions in the cityscape and eliminate negative practices that harm the environment.

The Green Qassim Land initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 by contributing to improved quality of life and expanding green spaces. These efforts not only beautify the city but also support sustainable development goals by enhancing urban environments for future generations.
