Stefan Arand Triumphs At Grand Prix Of Sharjah 2025, Securing World Championship Hoodoo

The 2025 UIM World Championship Racing season ends at Khalid Lagoon with the "Grand Prix of Sharjah", where Stefan Arand wins the final race for Team Sharjah, while Shaun Torrente secures the overall World Drivers’ Championship title.

The 24th edition of the event, staged under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, is organised by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority and serves as the season’s closing round.

Stefan Arand Wins Sharjah Grand Prix 2025

The "Road to Sharjah – Grand Prix of Sharjah" gathers 20 drivers from 10 international teams, with Arand steering boat #18 for Team Sharjah to victory, ahead of Grant Trask in boat #2 for Team Sweden and Rusty Wyatt in boat #17 for Team Sharjah.

Over 32 laps on the 2.05‑kilometre Khalid Lagoon circuit, Arand controls the second half of the Grand Prix of Sharjah, while former world champion Jonas Andersson leads early but fades, eventually crossing the line in sixth place.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the UAE Marine Sports Federation, together with Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of SCTDA, and H2O Racing founder Nicolo di San Germano, presents the race trophies and oversees the season’s official prizegiving.

During the same ceremony, Drivers’ World Championship awards go to Shaun Torrente, driving boat #4 for Team Victory of the Dubai International Marine Club in first place, Jonas Andersson in boat #1 for Team Sweden in second, and Rusty Wyatt in boat #17 for Team Sharjah in third.
