Grand Mosque Amplifies Quran Programs During Ramadan's Closing Days
In a significant move to deepen the spiritual connection of worshippers with the Holy Quran during the sacred month of Ramadan, the Presidency for Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has notably expanded its Quran memorization and recitation programs. This initiative, particularly emphasized during the last ten days of Ramadan, aims to immerse participants in the profound teachings of the Quran.
At the heart of this initiative is a permanent memorization program that operates round-the-clock, catering to both men and women. This program currently sees 1,230 students engaged in intensive learning sessions under the tutelage of 102 qualified teachers. Additionally, a specialized recitation correction program is available for visitors, aiming to refine their recitation skills. This program is structured into six daily sessions for men and five for women, with 47 teachers assisting approximately 1,300 visitors each day.

Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, President of Religious Affairs at both sacred mosques, underscored the importance of these programs. He described them as integral components of a broader strategy designed to foster a meaningful connection with the Quran through a rigorous scientific approach. The memorization circles, a key feature of this initiative, are hosted in dedicated areas within the Grand Mosque, including the basement and the entire first floor of the King Fahd Expansion. These sessions benefit from the expertise of a select group of experienced teachers committed to promoting Quranic education and memorization.
The expansion of these programs underscores a dedicated effort to provide comprehensive religious education opportunities within one of Islam's most revered sites. By facilitating access to such programs, the Presidency for Religious Affairs aims not only to enhance religious knowledge among Muslims but also to ensure that the teachings of the Quran remain a central part of spiritual life during Ramadan and beyond.
