Grand Mosque Of Makkah Enhances Visitor Experience With Multilingual Services

The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has taken significant steps to enhance the visitor experience at the Grand Mosque of Makkah. With a focus on inclusivity and accessibility, the authority has introduced a comprehensive range of services available in 51 languages. This initiative is designed to cater to the diverse needs of visitors from across the globe, ensuring they have access to essential information and cultural insights during their visit.

A team of 74 translators, representing both genders, plays a pivotal role in this endeavour. They are strategically positioned at major arrival points such as King Fahd Gate, King Abdulaziz Gate, Bab Al Salam, and several others throughout the day. These translators provide vital information on prayer times, current lessons and lectures, as well as museum and exhibition visiting hours. Their presence is crucial in bridging language barriers and enhancing the visitor experience.

Makkah Mosque's Multilingual Aid

Central to this initiative are dedicated information centers that serve as hubs for inquiries related to all services offered at the Grand Mosque. These centers offer translation services and live broadcasts among other resources. In an effort to further improve accessibility, the authority is developing additional tools such as headphones for live sermon and lesson broadcasts and training for service providers within the Grand Mosque on verbal translation skills.

Moreover, designated FM radio channels broadcast sermons and lessons in multiple languages, ensuring that non-Arabic speakers can fully participate in the spiritual experience. This comprehensive support system underscores the General Authority's commitment to making the Grand Mosque a welcoming place for visitors from all linguistic backgrounds.

The initiatives undertaken by the General Authority not only facilitate a deeper understanding of the Grand Mosque's cultural and historical significance but also significantly enrich the overall visit for international guests. Through these efforts, the authority aims to provide a more inclusive and informative experience for everyone visiting this sacred site.
