Imam Of Grand Mosque Strengthens Cultural Ties With Visit To Cambodian Islamic Centre

Dr. Bandar bin Abdulaziz Balila, Imam and Preacher of the Grand Mosque and Member of the Senior Scholars Council, recently visited the Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Centre for Islamic Sciences and Modern Studies in Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia. This visit was part of an official trip to Cambodia, organised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance in collaboration with various official entities.

During his tour, Dr. Balila explored the centre's facilities, including auditoriums, classrooms, and an Islamic library. He received briefings on the educational and cultural services provided to the Cambodian people. The director of the centre, Sheikh Hassan bin Saleh, expressed gratitude to Saudi leadership for their continuous support of Islam and Muslims worldwide.

Imam Visits Cambodian Islamic Centre

Sheikh Hassan highlighted that over 50 students annually pursue their education either in Cambodia's official universities or through scholarship programs at Saudi universities. He acknowledged the development aid provided to Cambodia and appreciated the opportunities given to students through these scholarships.

The visit underscored the strong relationship between Saudi Arabia and Cambodia. Sheikh Hassan emphasised that this visit serves as a message promoting tolerance and peace from the Two Holy Mosques, which are central to divine revelation and the origin of Islam's message.

Dr. Balila praised the efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince in serving Islam and supporting Muslims globally. He highlighted the significant role played by Islamic centres in spreading Islam's principles and inclusive teachings, contributing greatly to its expansion.

Presentation of Holy Quran

At the conclusion of his visit, Dr. Balila presented a copy of the Holy Quran issued by the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran in Madinah. This gesture symbolised Saudi Arabia's commitment to promoting Islamic teachings worldwide.

The visit by Dr. Balila not only reinforced educational ties but also showcased Saudi Arabia's dedication to fostering global Islamic unity through support for educational initiatives in Cambodia.
