Grand Mosque's Advanced Audio System Utilises 8,000 Speakers For Superior Sound Experience

The Grand Mosque in Makkah boasts an advanced audio system with 8,000 speakers spread over 650,000 square meters. This setup covers its three expansions, courtyards, and nearby roads, ensuring clear transmission of the call to prayer, sermons, and daily prayers. A team of 120 engineers and technicians manages this complex system around the clock.

To maintain high-quality sound, the team uses 100 microphones to capture the voices of imams, muezzins, and preachers. These are routed through 21 independent systems for precise control over different mosque sections. The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque oversees a daily maintenance program to keep the audio system at peak performance.

Grand Mosque Features 8,000-Speaker Audio System

Engineers and technicians continuously monitor control rooms and conduct inspections after each prayer. Special attention is given to sensitive microphones, which are balanced daily for optimal sound quality. Backup microphones are in place to activate automatically if any malfunction occurs, ensuring uninterrupted audio service.

Six central control rooms are strategically positioned throughout the Grand Mosque, its courtyards, new expansions, and surrounding roads. This integrated system connects seamlessly with live broadcast networks, transmitting prayers and sermons worldwide via radio and television in high quality.

This effort enhances the global dissemination of the two holy mosques' message of moderation, tolerance, and peace. The advanced audio system aims to enrich worshippers', pilgrims', and visitors' spiritual experiences during the 1446 AH Hajj season by fostering an atmosphere of humility and contemplation.

Visitors play a vital role in supporting this experience by maintaining calmness, avoiding disturbances, and respecting the sacred space's sanctity for everyone's comfort. The authority emphasizes that these efforts significantly contribute to a serene environment conducive to worship.
