This development, revealed on March 1, 2024, aims to include critical areas such as the well of Zamzam and the basement of the King Fahd expansion, ensuring a more connected and efficient environment for worshippers and visitors alike.

The extension of 5G coverage is a collaborative effort involving key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites. One of the primary objectives of this technological upgrade is to improve the efficiency of Zamzam water production. By monitoring the water level inside the well in real-time and sending data directly to the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Project for Zamzam Water Distribution, authorities can ensure a steady and efficient distribution process.
