Enhance Your Understanding Of UAE's Pension Laws With GPSSA Workshops

The General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) has called on employers in both government and private sectors to visit its website. They are encouraged to apply for workshops aimed at explaining the UAE's federal pension laws No. 7 of 1999 and No. 57 of 2023.

These workshops are designed to improve participants' knowledge of the insurance and social security benefits provided by GPSSA. The goal is to offer long-term advantages to insured individuals, pensioners, and their families.

Employers can request these workshops through the GPSSA website. They can also access service guides, view service cards, and watch instructional videos online.

Once a request is submitted via the website, the customer will be notified through email and SMS. A GPSSA specialist will then coordinate the delivery of the workshop at no cost to the employer.

Until August 2024, GPSSA conducted 37 workshops, reaching 1,118 insured individuals. These sessions covered various aspects of pension law and its provisions.

The GPSSA offers two types of workshops: one focusing on the legal framework and another on electronic services linked to those laws. Employers can host these workshops at their premises, providing insured employees with insights into crucial insurance topics.

The workshops cover essential topics such as insurance percentages, contribution requirements, pension rules, and more. They also explain the process of paying contributions, including deadlines.

Additionally, attendees will learn about leave and secondment periods, retirement pension eligibility, and end-of-service benefits. The sessions also include information on adding and purchasing service periods and merging pensions and salaries.

A Q&A session with GPSSA experts is included in each workshop. This allows participants to ask questions and gain further clarity on various topics discussed during the sessions.

This initiative aims to ensure that all insured individuals are well-informed about their rights and benefits under UAE's federal pension laws.
