Governor Of Attica Lauds Arabian Travel Market For Boosting Global Tourism
The Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai has been commended for its pivotal role in uniting global tourism and travel industry stakeholders. Nikos Chardalias, the Governor of the Attica Region in Greece, shared his insights with the Emirates News Agency (WAM) during his visit to the Greek pavilion at the ATM, which commenced today at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Chardalias underscored the significant potential for collaboration between Attica and Dubai, particularly in luxury tourism sectors such as yachting. He emphasized the strong bilateral relations between the UAE and Greece, attributing a part of this strength to Attica's efforts in revitalizing its local economy through innovation, technology, and comprehensive tourism development strategies. The Governor also mentioned future international partnerships that are on the horizon.

Highlighting the historical significance of Attica, Chardalias pointed out that the region is not only home to Athens, the Greek capital known for its classical importance but also encompasses a larger administrative area. This includes Megaris within the regional unit of West Attica, the Saronic Islands, Cythera, and the municipality of Troizinia on the Peloponnesian mainland. The intertwined histories of Attica and Athens underscore the region's cultural and historical importance, dating back to ancient times when Athens was a leading city in the ancient world.
The Governor's statements at ATM reflect a broader vision for fostering deeper ties between Dubai and Attica, leveraging their respective strengths in tourism and beyond. With both regions looking towards innovation and sustainable development, this partnership could mark a significant step forward in international tourism collaboration.
