Makkah Authorities Enhance Services And Facilities For Ramadan Visitors And Umrah Performers

Government agencies in Makkah have started executing their plans to provide top-notch services for visitors and Umrah performers during Ramadan. This period sees a significant increase in worshipers from both inside and outside Saudi Arabia. The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has initiated its Ramadan plan with several projects.

The authority has introduced the "Tahallul from Nusuk" service at five locations within the Grand Mosque, ensuring safe and hygienic standards. For the first time, a mobile hair-cutting service is available through specially designed carts that can move as crowds increase. Luggage storage services have been improved with designated shelves and an electronic tracking system, with six drop-off points at main entrances.

Makkah Enhances Services for Ramadan Visitors

To facilitate movement, 400 electric golf carts are now available across 11 locations inside the Grand Mosque. The iftar meal distribution system has been enhanced through electronic registration, and location-based guidance signs help visitors access facilities and services. Reporting teams are present around the clock to address inquiries and maintenance requests during Ramadan.

In collaboration with relevant authorities, plans for crowd management within the Two Holy Mosques have been developed. Location-based guidance signs have been installed, and specialized personnel are deployed for spatial guidance. Clear pathways in corridors ensure smooth movement, while prayer areas are prepared to accommodate more worshipers comfortably.

The "Walking Guides" initiative has been launched to assist visitors in navigating the mosques easily. Trained teams respond to inquiries in multiple languages, enhancing visitor experience. Meanwhile, the Holy Makkah Municipality is implementing plans across municipal services like sanitation, pest control, and monitoring commercial establishments related to public health.

Municipal Services and Infrastructure Maintenance

The municipality's services include inspecting food products for human consumption suitability, maintaining municipal facilities, preparing infrastructure, and overseeing public restrooms, parks, green spaces, rainwater drainage networks. These efforts ensure a clean and safe environment for all visitors during Ramadan.

The Makkah Region branch of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs has also begun its plans to welcome worshipers in mosques across governorates. This includes cleaning mosques, grand mosques, women's prayer areas, maintaining equipment, ensuring necessary prayer supplies availability. Inspection tours verify mosques' readiness to receive worshipers.

These comprehensive efforts by various government bodies aim to enhance visitor experiences during Ramadan in Makkah by providing essential services efficiently while ensuring safety and comfort for all worshipers.
