Governance For Venture Capital Backed Startups: SVC And Governance Center Elevate Board Practices
The Saudi Venture Capital Company has completed a three-day executive programme on governance for venture-backed firms, run with the Governance Center, a Public Investment Fund subsidiary. The course aims to raise governance maturity and board performance within high-growth Saudi companies that receive venture capital funding, supporting stronger oversight and more sustainable expansion.
The initiative drew a selected group of chief executive officers, board directors, founders and senior managers from startups across several sectors in the Kingdom. Participants examined how sound governance improves strategic choices, reduces risk, and supports long-term stability for investment-backed companies at different stages of growth.

Saudi Venture Capital Company Chief Executive Officer and Board Member Dr. Nabeel Koshak said in a statement: "SVC seeks to develop an advanced venture capital ecosystem that goes beyond financing, toward building a knowledge base that enhances investment quality and supports companies throughout their growth journey." Dr. Nabeel Koshak added: "Our partnership with the Governance Center enables startups to adopt effective governance models that contribute to long-term value creation and enhance investor confidence in the Saudi market, both locally and internationally."
