Dubai's Leading Universities Champion AI Education And Digital Transformation For Future Talent

Universities in Dubai International Academic City and Dubai Knowledge Park are equipping students with AI skills to meet global economic demands. These institutions, part of TECOM Group PJSC, offer specialised pathways for students to gain industry-ready expertise. This initiative aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and Education 33 strategy (E33), aiming to prepare future talent for evolving job markets.

As technology continues to shape the future, 82% of Dubai's students believe it will significantly impact their careers over the next decade. To address this, universities are introducing AI programmes and co-curricular activities. These initiatives help students align their academic pursuits with roles in engineering, mathematics, science, and technology.

The University of Birmingham Dubai has launched the emirate's first PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence. Meanwhile, Amity University Dubai offers a Bachelor of Computer Science focusing on AI and Cybersecurity. Middlesex University Dubai provides programmes in Data Analytics, Smart Marketing, and Global Business Management.

Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior Vice President of Dubai International Academic City and Dubai Knowledge Park, stated: "Today’s academic programmes must empower generations of learners that are increasingly more tech-savvy than ever before." He emphasised the importance of preparing students for a digitised future by integrating AI into education.

The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is incorporating AI into its curriculum through projects like ChatEV. Abu Dhabi University (ADU) uses AI-supported assessments to guide students towards suitable programmes. Curtin University Dubai offers new courses in AI and Cybersecurity, while the University of Manchester Dubai integrates AI into executive programmes with a focus on Data and AI for Leaders.

These educational advancements highlight the role of higher education institutions in fostering innovative competencies. By bridging the skills gap, these universities aim to build a generation capable of leading the knowledge economy and shaping future industries.
