Abu Dhabi To Host Inaugural Global Rail Transport Infrastructure Conference In 2024

Under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, Abu Dhabi is set to host the inaugural Global Rail Transport Infrastructure Exhibition and Conference from 8th to 10th October 2024. This flagship event, taking place at ADNEC Abu Dhabi, is a collaborative effort between Etihad Rail, the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI), ADNEC Group, and dmg Events. The conference is themed "Setting Transport Infrastructure and Global Connectivity in Motion," aiming to bring together industry leaders and specialists from across the globe.

The conference will serve as a melting pot for over 15,000 senior decision-makers, 1,000 delegates, and more than 300 exhibiting companies from over 40 countries. With an agenda spanning three days, the event will cover six thematic streams through more than 40 keynote addresses, panel discussions, and fireside chats. Topics will range from global rail trends to sustainable infrastructure, addressing challenges in multimodal integration, environmental impact, new regulatory frameworks, financing logistics, and advancements in security and safety practices.

Over 120 speakers are expected to grace the event, including global policymakers, government representatives, institutional leaders, and railway pioneers. Their collective expertise aims to foster international dialogue essential for linking key population and industry centers towards a more interconnected future. H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Etihad Rail, emphasized the role of Etihad Rail in developing a robust transportation ecosystem through collaboration and opportunity.

Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, highlighted the pivotal role of the railway sector in the UAE and GCC countries' future vision. He expressed commitment to enhancing the sector's development through Global Rail by forming partnerships and concluding future agreements. Christopher Hudson, President of dmg events, aligned Global Rail with the country's vision for a green and energy-efficient environment. He noted the event's role in showcasing advanced rail solutions and fostering important industry conversations.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and CEO of ADNEC Group, expressed pride in hosting Global Rail in partnership with key stakeholders. He emphasized the event's alignment with Abu Dhabi's efforts to develop the logistics sector and its contribution to diversifying the national economy while advancing the transport and railway sector.
