Innovators, researchers, and academic institutions are encouraged to participate in its third edition by registering on the official website. The prize ceremony is set for December 8 in Jeddah, coinciding with the fourth Innovation-Driven Water Sustainability Conference.
Since its inception, GPIW has gained recognition as a leading international platform supporting research and development in the water sector. It offers a competitive environment that unites innovators from various fields, facilitating the transition of their projects from concept to practical application. This year’s edition introduces six categories addressing key challenges and opportunities in water technology solutions.

These categories highlight the prize's diversity and alignment with global trends in water resource management.
The prize is divided into three main tracks: Discovery Prize for early-stage projects, Leadership Prize for advanced initiatives, and Impact Prizes recognizing 12 projects with proven practical effectiveness. Special honorary categories also focus on market readiness, policy impact, and innovation excellence.
In previous editions, over 650 entries from 44 countries were received. More than 120 international entities participated, including universities, research institutes, and startups. Over 22 winners received financial prizes and operational opportunities exceeding $2 million. The prize maintains strict scientific standards and collaborates with leading specialized entities.
This initiative underscores SWA's commitment to fostering innovation as a key driver for water resource sustainability. The authority invites innovators to submit entries as Saudi Arabia continues to position itself as a global hub for water research and innovation.
