NIDLP And Ministry Of Industry Launch Global Minerals Innovation Competition For Sustainable Mining Solutions

The National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP), in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, has introduced the first Global Minerals Innovation Competition named "Future Minerals Pioneers." This event is under the patronage of Minister Bandar Alkhorayef and led by Vice Minister Eng. Khalid Al-Mudaifer. The competition aims to develop sustainable solutions for Saudi Arabia's mining sector.

Participants from around the globe, including students, researchers, entrepreneurs, and professionals, are encouraged to join. Teams must consist of four to seven members aged 18 or older. They can submit their innovative ideas through the official platform at https://fmp.nidlp.gov.sa. This initiative seeks to inspire both local and international talent.

Global Minerals Innovation Competition Launched

The competition centres on smart technologies, safety, security, and resource sustainability within mining operations. It aims to foster an advanced ecosystem that will enhance long-term competitiveness in the sector. By inviting diverse participants, it hopes to empower talent and generate practical solutions for future challenges.

This initiative unfolds in three stages: a qualifying round for local innovators, a global competition for international participants, and a final ceremony at the fifth Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh in January 2026. During this event, winners will be announced alongside recognition of supporting entities, partners, and sponsors.

Key partners include the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) as the main partner of the competition and Saudi Mining Services Company (ESNAD) as the primary partner of the National Competition. These partnerships highlight a collective effort to advance mining innovation in Saudi Arabia.

NIDLP highlights that this competition emerges during a transformative period for Saudi Arabia's mining sector. Driven by Saudi Vision 2030, this vision prioritises strategic development by encouraging investment and adopting advanced technologies. It also fosters an entrepreneurial environment focused on innovation.

Vision 2030's Role

Saudi Vision 2030 identifies mining as a strategic priority. It supports its growth by stimulating investment and enabling technology adoption. This approach strengthens Saudi Arabia's position as a global hub for minerals and natural resources while promoting sustainable growth.

NIDLP aims to create an integrated ecosystem through this competition that empowers talent and connects ideas with opportunities. The initiative reflects Saudi Arabia's commitment to sustainable growth and its ambition to become a leader in minerals, resources, and mining innovation globally.
