Global Industry Summit Concludes With Riyadh Declaration To Enhance International Cooperation And Sustainable Development
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) General Conference's 21st session concluded in Riyadh with the adoption of the 'Riyadh Declaration.' This declaration sets forth a unified global vision for sustainable and inclusive industrial development, showcasing Saudi Arabia's leadership in the international industrial arena. The conference, titled "Global Industry Summit," took place from November 23 to 27, gathering ministers, decision-makers, international organization representatives, and industry leaders worldwide.
During the summit, extensive discussions and decisions were made to shape the future of global industry. Participants praised Saudi Arabia for its excellent organization of the event and its success in aligning outcomes with global industrial development priorities amid rapid changes in industrial transformation. A significant outcome of the conference was designating April 21 as the International Day of Women in Industry. This initiative underscores women's crucial role in shaping industrial sectors' future. Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef highlighted that empowering women in industry is not just a social priority but an economic necessity for fostering growth and sustainability. The unanimous agreement on the "Riyadh Declaration" by all member states marked a significant achievement on the final day.
