KSrelief Leader Proposes Creation Of Global Council To Secure Airborne Aid
Riyadh, SPA – Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), has urged the international community to form a "Global Humanitarian Aviation Council." This council aims to unite the aviation sector, humanitarian organizations, and governments to streamline and safeguard air-transported humanitarian aid.
Dr. Al Rabeeah made these remarks during his participation in a panel discussion titled "Aviation – A Vital Lifeline for Humanitarian Efforts" at the Future Aviation Forum 2024. He emphasized that all programs under this council should be protected by international humanitarian law.

The proposed council would facilitate aid delivery in three primary ways. Firstly, by ensuring unrestricted access to airports, air corridors, and refuelling facilities for aircraft carrying aid. Secondly, by eliminating all fees and taxes on aircraft transporting aid. Thirdly, by simplifying the delivery process, where removing fees would reduce costs and help bridge the humanitarian funding gap.
Dr. Al Rabeeah highlighted KSrelief's use of aviation to deliver crucial medical supplies and aid to crisis areas. The centre has conducted 50 flights from Riyadh to Al-Arish in Egypt to support Gaza, more than 20 flights to Sudan, and provided essential assistance to earthquake victims in Turkiye and Syria.
Additionally, KSrelief established an airlift to Ukraine by sending 21 aircraft loaded with essential aid to border cities in Poland.
