Global Harmony 2 Draws Over 3.5 Million Visitors As Expat Engagement Initiative Concludes

The Ministry of Media concluded the second Global Harmony 2 initiative after a 49-day run at Al-Suwadi Park, one of the Riyadh Season locations. The event, held in cooperation with the General Entertainment Authority and the Quality of Life Program, attracted more than 3.5 million visitors from different nationalities, including citizens and residents.

The initiative aimed to strengthen engagement with expatriate communities and present their cultures within Saudi Arabia. Organisers highlighted the role of residents in daily life, their professional paths and family routines, and their contribution to the national economy. The programme also presented their social and leisure activities within the wider Saudi community.

Global Harmony 2 Draws 3.5M Visitors

Global Harmony 2 offered visitors a varied cultural schedule, including musical concerts, roaming performances, and family-focused cultural and entertainment shows. Traditional foods and handicrafts from participating communities were available throughout the venue. More than 100 artists and creatives from different countries staged over 1,200 musical and cultural performances on the main stage.

The initiative highlighted 14 cultures represented by residents of the Kingdom, from India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Egypt, Pakistan, Yemen, Sudan, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Bangladesh, Uganda, and Ethiopia. These displays aimed to reflect the diversity of expatriate communities in Saudi Arabia and the heritage each community brought with it.

Around 3,500 folk performers took part in specialised traditional and folkloric shows, while over 400 exhibitors displayed traditional clothing, handicrafts, fine arts, and accessories. Their interactive booths targeted visitors of all ages and encouraged participation. These activities aimed to give audiences direct contact with cultural practices and creative work from the represented communities.

The Ministry of Media reported that Global Harmony 2 received broad media attention beyond Saudi Arabia. More than 5,000 journalists and media professionals covered the activities daily across different platforms. Reports from outlets in the participating countries helped transmit the initiative’s cultural message internationally and highlighted Saudi Arabia’s role in supporting cultural openness and coexistence.

A number of ministers, officials, and ambassadors from the represented countries attended the events and engaged with the programmes. They expressed appreciation for the initiative and its positive messages, noting that it reflects Saudi Arabia’s position as a global destination for cultural openness and coexistence. Their presence underlined official interest in the large expatriate communities living in the Kingdom.

The initiative also focused on personal stories, showcasing residents’ careers, family experiences, and participation in social and recreational activities. These stories underlined success cases within the Kingdom and the variety of cultural backgrounds that exist side by side. Many visitors said the event offered a genuine view of different cultures in a festive setting that encouraged harmony.

More than 3,000 Saudi men and women worked on planning and running the events, helping deliver an experience that visitors received positively and supporting the initiative’s stated goals. Global Harmony 2 presented an image of daily life in Saudi Arabia that highlighted cultural diversity, coexistence between communities, and the active role of residents in the country’s social and economic landscape.
