Global Forensic Excellence Summit Kicks Off In Riyadh With International Experts

The Global Forensic Excellence Summit (GFEX 2025) commenced in Riyadh, under the auspices of Minister of Health Fahad AlJalajel. This inaugural event is part of the Global Health Exhibition and is hosted by the Ministry of Health’s Forensic Medical Services Center at Narcissus The Royal Hotel. It will span three days, uniting experts from Saudi Arabia and beyond.

The summit integrates the 4th Saudi Conference of Forensic Medical Sciences (SCFMS 2025) and the 6th International Conference on Toxicology and Pharmacy (KSAPT 2025). Dr. Ahmed Al-Yahya, Executive Director-General of the Forensic Medical Services Center, chairs this event. He highlighted its collaboration with the Saudi Society of Forensic Medicine and the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society, involving 15 government entities to foster synergy between health and science for justice and excellence in forensic practices.

Dr. Maram Alotaibi, CEO of the Health Support Services Center, emphasized that GFEX 2025 acts as a progressive scientific platform. It underscores Saudi Arabia's dedication to advancing forensic medical sciences while integrating medicine with law to serve justice and society. She noted that international expert participation facilitates knowledge exchange and practice enhancement according to global standards.

The summit has attracted significant academic interest, receiving 320 scientific papers from over 20 countries. Of these submissions, 102 were selected for presentation across 16 scientific sessions. Additionally, there are 104 posters and 12 workshops focusing on recent advancements in forensic medicine, toxicology, pharmacology, and forensic evidence.

Dr. Alotaibi further explained that hosting GFEX 2025 within the Global Health Exhibition aligns with the ministry’s vision to integrate advanced health disciplines under one framework. This approach aims to build a comprehensive health ecosystem supporting Saudi Vision 2030's objectives through the Health Transformation Program.

The summit represents a pioneering effort in the Middle East by bringing together diverse expertise in forensic sciences. It aims to enhance integration between various disciplines for improved justice outcomes while promoting innovation in forensic practices.
