Global Food Week In Abu Dhabi To Feature Record International Participation And Key Events On Food Security
The Global Food Week, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is scheduled from 26 to 28 November 2024 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This event will feature a range of specialised exhibitions and conferences, including the 3rd Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition and the inaugural Global Food Security Summit.
Organised by ADNEC Group in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, this event is supported by various strategic partners. These include the UAE Food and Beverage Manufacturers Group as a Knowledge Partner and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment as Host Sponsor for the Global Food Security Summit. The event aims to address key challenges in food security and sustainability.

This year's event has seen significant growth with exhibition space increasing by 13% to 32,000 square metres. The number of exhibitors has risen by 20% to 660, while participating companies now exceed 1,900, marking a 46% increase. Additionally, participation from countries has grown by 49%, with first-time involvement from 33 new nations.
The debut of the Abu Dhabi Coffee Platform will introduce 60 prominent coffee brands globally. Badr Al Shehhi from the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority highlighted that "Global Food Week underscores Abu Dhabi’s and the UAE’s role as global hubs for innovation in agriculture and food security."
Strategic Dialogue on Food Security
The Global Food Security Summit will host discussions on critical issues like global hunger with contributions from 80 speakers, including ministers. Saleh Lootah of the UAE Food and Beverage Manufacturers Group remarked: "Global Food Week embodies the UAE’s vision for fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainability in the food and beverage sector."
Dr Abdel Wahhab Zaid emphasised the importance of dates in enhancing food security during the Abu Dhabi Date Palm Exhibition. He noted that "the exhibition underscores the economic and strategic importance of dates in enhancing global food security."

The week offers numerous networking opportunities through high-quality B2B meetings connecting industry leaders with buyers. The Abu Dhabi Date Palm Exhibition remains a key event for specialists in this sector. Many contracts are expected to be signed during this period to strengthen supply chains.
