Global Experts Convene In Abu Dhabi For The 7th Emirates Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Conference
The 7th Emirates Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Conference has commenced in Abu Dhabi, highlighting the UAE's advancements in pediatric subspecialties. Over 700 clinicians, researchers, and industry partners from Africa, the Middle East, and Asia are attending to share insights on diagnosing and treating childhood cancers and blood disorders.
The conference spans two days and includes parallel tracks for Hematology-Oncology and General Pediatrics. The Hematology-Oncology track focuses on advanced clinical practices, recent research, and new therapies in pediatric hematology and oncology. Meanwhile, the General Pediatrics track aims to increase awareness about early detection of pediatric cancers and guide pediatricians on when to refer cases to specialists.

Dr. Zainul Aabideen, Conference Chair and Head of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and BMT at Burjeel Medical City, stated, "The conference has established itself as a forum of international significance. By uniting expert voices from every corner of our region and beyond, we can pave the way towards shortening the journey from diagnosis to hope for thousands of young patients."
Four industry symposiums complement the scientific sessions alongside 40 peer-reviewed posters from 13 countries. This highlights the conference's importance as a platform for learning, networking, and advancing pediatric cancer care.
Dr. Layla Ali Eisa Mohamed Alreyami, Conference Co-Chair and Consultant Physician at Tawam Hospital, emphasized the significance of partnerships formed during the event. She remarked that these collaborations will enhance clinical standards and broaden access to lifesaving therapies across shared regions.
The conference is set to conclude on 27 April. Participants anticipate that discussions will lead to improved outcomes for young patients facing cancer diagnoses.
