The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) and the Arab Union for Tourism Media have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU). Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, President of GCTP, and Dr. Sultan Al Yehyai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Union for Tourism Media, signed the MoU. This agreement aims to boost collaboration in tourism media and promote tolerance and peace.

The MoU highlights tourism's role as a soft power that unites nations and enhances civilisational dialogue. It also emphasises media's importance in showcasing Arab tourist destinations while connecting them to universal human values. Both parties believe these elements are crucial in fostering understanding among different cultures.

New Cooperation Agreement in Tourism Media Signed

Through this agreement, both organisations will work together on events, conferences, and workshops focused on inter-Arab tourism. These activities aim to spread tolerance through media channels. The MoU also includes sharing expertise, conducting specialised studies, and coordinating media efforts to promote initiatives related to Arab heritage and human-centred tourist sites.

Additionally, the agreement involves cooperation in hosting forums that highlight tourism media's role in fostering cultural convergence. Joint coordination will also occur on relevant regional and international platforms to further these goals. This collaboration is expected to enhance the visibility of Arab culture globally.

Al Jarwan stated that this partnership supports efforts to instil peace and tolerance values. He noted that media and tourism are effective allies in spreading human values and promoting understanding between people. This collaboration is seen as a significant step towards achieving these objectives.

Dr. Al Yehyai emphasised the importance of this initiative in supporting Arab tourism media. He highlighted its role in presenting the Arab world’s cultural image positively. According to him, this agreement marks a new beginning for integrating tourism with tolerance as influential forms of soft power.

This MoU represents a strategic move towards enhancing cooperation between tourism media entities in the Arab world. By focusing on shared human values, it aims to strengthen civilisational dialogue while promoting peace through cultural exchange.
