Riyadh Hosts 6th Global Conference On Occupational Safety And Health

Under the auspices of Eng. Ahmed Alrajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Riyadh became the focal point for global experts in occupational safety and health with the commencement of the Sixth Global Conference for Occupational Safety and Health. The event, themed "Scanning the Horizon", began today and is set to continue until May 7. It aims to delve into critical areas such as sustainability, corporate safety, technological transformation, cultural awareness, and occupational health.

In his inaugural address, Eng. Alrajhi highlighted Saudi Arabia's strides in enhancing occupational safety and health standards, attributing these achievements to the ambitious Vision 2030. This initiative seeks to foster a vibrant society and propel the nation towards a diversified and sustainable economic future. He underscored the pivotal role of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health in these advancements, noting a significant 30.7% reduction in work-related injuries—from 416 injuries per 100,000 workers to 288 injuries per 100,000 workers. Furthermore, compliance with safety and health standards among establishments has surged by 71.27%.

Global Safety & Health Meet in Riyadh

The conference also saw the inauguration of an exhibition where Eng. Alrajhi toured various pavilions showcasing the contributions of participating entities to occupational safety and health. Additionally, he launched the official website of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health and reviewed a new platform dedicated to reporting and investigating work-related accidents, injuries, and occupational diseases.

This gathering in Riyadh not only serves as a testament to Saudi Arabia's commitment to enhancing workplace safety but also positions the Kingdom as a leader in adopting innovative practices for occupational health. By focusing on sustainability, technological advancements, and cultural awareness, the conference aligns with global trends in ensuring safer work environments for all.
