MWL Hosts Global Conference In Makkah To Enhance Dialogue Among Islamic Schools Of Thought
The Muslim World League (MWL) is set to host the second Global Conference for Building Bridges Between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects. This event will take place on the 6th and 7th of Ramadan in Makkah, under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The conference aims to foster unity among various Islamic traditions.
This year's theme, "towards an effective Islamic convergence," will bring together leading muftis, scholars, and representatives from senior Islamic councils. Participants will engage in discussions to promote fraternity and cohesion through practical initiatives. The event seeks to address sectarian disputes that have historically caused division.

The conference serves as a platform for constructive dialogue among diverse Islamic traditions. It aims to coordinate efforts and resources to strengthen Islamic unity while respecting doctrinal diversity. By focusing on impactful initiatives, the event hopes to overcome historical conflicts and promote mutual understanding.
A significant part of the conference will be the unveiling of the encyclopedia of Islamic intellectual convergence. This comprehensive guide has been prepared by Saudi Arabia's intellectual protection center (Feker) at the request of scholars involved in the Building Bridges Charter. It includes contributions from 60 distinguished Islamic thinkers.
In addition to launching the encyclopedia, the conference will reveal a strategic and implementation plan for the "Building Bridges Between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects" Charter. Several key initiatives and programs designed to advance its objectives will also be introduced during the event.
This year's gathering marks a crucial step in transforming principles from the inaugural conference into actionable programs. Discussions will focus on pressing issues like enhancing intra-Islamic dialogue and cooperation, which are essential for fostering unity among different sects.
The conference represents a unified effort to bridge gaps between various Islamic schools of thought. By promoting dialogue and understanding, it aims to create a more cohesive Islamic community that respects diversity while working towards common goals.
