Global City Dammam Project Set To Transform Eastern Region's Tourism And Culture Landscape

The Eastern Region Municipality has announced plans for "Global City Dammam," a significant investment initiative in partnership with a Thai investor. This project aims to transform the entertainment, cultural, and tourism landscape in the region, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030's objectives to improve quality of life.

Spokesperson Faisal Al-Zahrani highlighted that the city will feature an innovative design combining entertainment, tourism, culture, and commerce. The project includes pavilions for 16 countries, each highlighting its unique culture and traditions. Visitors can enjoy authentic cuisine from these countries at dedicated restaurants within each pavilion.

The Global City will cover over 600,000 square meters of land and water. The first phase investment is SAR200 million, with the total project value expected to reach SAR650 million upon completion. Studies conducted by the municipality and the investor support these projections.

Central to the city's design is an artificial lake that enhances its visual appeal and tourism potential. A floating market will be constructed on this lake, alongside an open-air theater capable of seating 7,000 people, expandable to 10,000 for larger events.

Al-Zahrani emphasized that this venture is not just an entertainment hub but also a catalyst for cultural and economic growth in the region. Dammam's strategic location near Gulf countries positions it as a major tourism destination for both domestic and international visitors.

The city will also boast a fully equipped entertainment zone spanning over 17,000 square meters. This area will include a large open-air skating plaza, numerous international dining options, and family-friendly activities, establishing it as a key entertainment spot in the region.

According to Al-Zahrani, "Global City Dammam" is set to become a prominent tourist attraction within Saudi Arabia and beyond. Its strategic location near Gulf nations enhances its appeal as a destination for visitors from various regions.

This ambitious project reflects a commitment to enhancing cultural experiences while contributing significantly to local economic development. By integrating diverse cultural elements with modern amenities, it promises to offer visitors an enriching experience.
