Global Alliance For Two-State Solution Holds First Meeting In Riyadh Amid Ongoing Conflict
The first meeting of the Global Alliance for Implementation of the Two-State Solution took place in Riyadh. Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, Deputy Minister for International Multilateral Affairs, participated alongside senior officials from various countries and international bodies. Dr. Al-Rassi highlighted the ongoing suffering of Palestinians due to Israeli actions and stressed the importance of this meeting.
Dr. Al-Rassi criticised Israel's violations of international law and the global community's failure to stop these actions. He pointed out that the Security Council has a historical duty to protect Palestinian rights and initiate a comprehensive peace process. This aims to prevent further conflict escalation in the region.

Dr. Al-Rassi called on participating nations to support a multilateral political path towards peace based on the two-state solution. This approach is rooted in international law, UN resolutions, peace process frameworks, and the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative under the "land-for-peace" principle.
The goal is to end eight decades of Palestinian suffering, allowing them to live freely in an independent state within 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. He urged other countries to recognise Palestine, which would strengthen Palestinian rights and hasten peace efforts.
Dr. Al-Rassi condemned Israel's decision to ban UNRWA activities, viewing it as a breach of international law and a dangerous precedent against UN Charter obligations. He stated this move undermines the resilience of Palestinians on their land and represents an attempt at forced displacement.
He reiterated Saudi Arabia's rejection of Israel's systematic targeting of UN agencies and humanitarian groups, which endangers their workers' lives. The Kingdom supports UNRWA's mission to aid Palestinian refugees despite these challenges.
Call for Global Action
Dr. Al-Rassi urged the international community, especially Security Council permanent members, to use their influence to maintain security and peace by compelling Israel to cease its aggression. He also called for unrestricted humanitarian aid access.
"The continuation of the occupying power’s crimes against the Palestinian people will only widen the conflict and further endanger regional and global security and stability," he stated.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Al-Rassi expressed hope for this initiative's success, noting enthusiasm for joining this alliance among participants.
