GITEX GLOBAL 2025 Opens With Global Leaders To Shape The Intelligence Economy
The world's largest tech and AI event, GITEX GLOBAL 2025, has commenced at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This significant gathering, running from 13-17 October 2025, features over 6,800 exhibitors and 2,000 startups. It also includes delegations from more than 180 countries. The event highlights the integration of technology with economic strategies and geopolitical goals.
Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, addressed a full audience on the main stage. He spoke on the theme "The Race Beyond Innovation: AI, Geopolitics, and the Global Economic Reset." Al Marri emphasised that innovation and economic diversification are central to the UAE’s national strategy.

Ekaterina Zaharieva from the European Commission joined Dr. Najwa Aaraj of the UAE’s Advanced Technology Research Council to discuss deep-tech ecosystems' global impact. Zaharieva highlighted shared goals between the European Union and UAE in driving innovation for citizens’ benefit. She noted that GITEX 2025 marks a starting point for this collaborative journey.
Evan Solomon, Canada’s Minister for AI and Digital Innovation, participated in a panel titled "Intelligence Super-Cycle." Alongside Amandeep Gill from the UN, they explored AI's role as a key economic infrastructure. Solomon remarked on GITEX as a prime example of rapid entrepreneurial growth and stressed maintaining values while building partnerships.
Andrew Feldman, CEO of Cerebras, discussed their achievement in launching the world’s largest supercomputer for AI training with G42. Feldman explained how creating an enormous chip allowed for faster AI inferencing speeds by reducing power usage and improving efficiency.
Al Marri stated: "The United Arab Emirates, thanks to the forward-looking vision of its wise leadership, is not merely participating in the global race for innovation; it is shaping its contours and cementing its foundations by building an economic model defined by resilience and a future orientation, grounded in knowledge and advanced technology. This strengthens the nation’s position at the forefront of the global economic landscape."

Zaharieva said: "The European Union and the UAE share a vision to drive innovation that benefits our citizens. We are aligned on the importance of startups and scaleups for our economies. This journey starts at GITEX 2025." Her statement underscores mutual goals between regions to foster technological growth through collaboration.
Solomon added: "GITEX is an absolutely core example of entrepreneurs being launched at a speed we've never seen – and we need to keep our values and build together.
