GETEX 2024 Launches: A Hub For Global Educational Opportunities

Aisha Abdulla Miran, Director-General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), officially opened the Global Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) today, marking the beginning of a significant three-day student recruitment event. The ceremony saw the presence of Chancellors, Vice Chancellors, and Provosts from leading universities across the region, celebrating the commencement of the 2024 edition of this pivotal education and training exhibition.

Under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, GETEX is being held from 24th to 26th April at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The exhibition showcases a wide range of study streams that cater to both emerging and traditional careers, emphasizing areas such as computing, technological advancements, medicine and sciences, leadership, among other future-oriented career paths for students.

This year's exhibition boasts participation from over 200 universities spanning 30 different countries, presenting nearly 2,500 course options to prospective students. With an anticipated attendance exceeding 20,000 visitors in the coming days, GETEX stands as a beacon for international collaboration and educational progress, offering innovative programs and networking opportunities to all its participants.

"KHDA is committed to supporting initiatives that empower students to make informed decisions about their higher education journeys, and GETEX serves as a vital resource for both students and the higher education sector," stated Aisha Abdulla Miran. She further encouraged students and visitors to explore the KHDA stand for insights into international higher education options available in Dubai. Highlighting Dubai’s growing appeal as a hub for quality education, Miran noted that enrolments at Dubai’s private universities surged by a record 12% this year.

The exhibition also features the second Academia Industry Innovation Conference under the theme ‘Educating Future Leaders and Innovators’, with a special focus on artificial intelligence. Attendees can look forward to an AI hackathon, AI startup showcase, youth career counselling sessions, an internship fair for young adults, AI innovation awards, and roundtable discussions with educators and industry professionals. Additionally, over 30 seminars on higher education will guide students towards achieving their academic goals.

Tanya Mokle, Director of GETEX, highlighted the exhibition's growth trajectory by stating, "With more new courses, universities, and themes each year, we continue to grow in an effort to provide students with better education options to secure their future." She also mentioned the inclusion of 27 Indian Universities, 25 Chinese universities, and over 20 universities from Russia and the CIS as part of this year's lineup.
