German Delegation Explores Innovations At 20th SteelFab Exhibition In Sharjah
Expo Centre Sharjah recently hosted a delegation from Germany during the 20th SteelFab exhibition. The event, which concludes on 16th January, showcased the latest advancements in metalworking and steel fabrication. The German representatives were briefed on the exhibition's agenda and the initial outcomes of their companies' participation, highlighting innovations in machinery and technology.
The delegation was welcomed by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Expo Centre Sharjah. Waleed AbdelRahman BuKhatir, Second Vice Chairman of SCCI, along with several board members and Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, were also present. The German team included Thomas Kufen, Mayor of Essen, and Oliver P. Kuhrt, CEO of Messe Essen.

Discussions focused on enhancing German companies' involvement in SteelFab. Both sides explored collaboration opportunities to boost the exhibition sector's role in advancing the steel and iron industries. The German delegation praised SteelFab's achievements as a leading event in the Middle East and North Africa for metalworking.
Abdallah Sultan Al Owais expressed hope that this visit would strengthen economic ties between Germany and Sharjah. He highlighted the importance of such visits in fostering collaboration within the exhibition sector. German businesses have been increasingly participating in events at Expo Centre Sharjah, including SteelFab.
Saif Mohammed Al Midfa noted that international participation at SteelFab reflects its prominent status. He emphasised the trust placed in it by regional and global brands. German companies have significantly contributed by showcasing advanced technology relevant to steel and metal industries.
Thomas Kufen commended SteelFab 2025's successes, noting the expertise of exhibiting companies and high visitor turnout. He appreciated the support provided to exhibitors by Sharjah Expo Centre. Kufen also highlighted live demonstrations of cutting-edge technologies at the exhibition.
The meeting underscored SteelFab's role as a key platform for industry innovation. It continues to attract significant international interest, reinforcing its position as a major event for metalworking professionals across regions.
