German Ambassador Reviews Initiatives At Zayed Higher Organisation For People Of Determination

Alexander Schonfelder, the German Ambassador to the UAE, recently visited the Production Centre for People of Determination under the Zayed Higher Organisation. His visit aimed to understand their programmes and initiatives for people of determination, explore potential collaborations, and observe vocational training and employment opportunities firsthand.

He was welcomed by Abdullah Abdul-Ali Al-Humaidan, Secretary-General of the organisation, along with senior officials. Al-Humaidan provided an overview of the organisation's services, highlighting UAE leadership's support for these groups and the organisation's efforts to offer top-notch care and rehabilitation using advanced technologies and global experiences.

The Ambassador toured various vocational rehabilitation workshops during his visit. He praised the high-quality products made by students at the Production Centre for People of Determination. The tour included a chocolate-making workshop operated by individuals of determination under "The Bee" brand and a central workshop for prosthetics and orthotics in collaboration with German company O T P.

The visit also showcased unique initiatives like the Bee Café, managed by individuals of determination offering coffee and training. Another highlight was the Blooming Bee Flower Project, a workshop where female students create flower arrangements tailored to market demands.

The Ambassador observed several employment opportunities provided by the organisation. These included a cheese factory managed by women of determination producing dairy products and sewing workshops offering jobs for individuals with intellectual challenges aligned with market needs. Additionally, he visited printing services run by individuals of determination creating various items.

One notable stop was the first 3D printing workshop managed by people of determination in collaboration with HP. This initiative supports both employment and training for individuals with special needs.

Comprehensive Care and Integration

The visit underscored the organisation's dedication to providing comprehensive care, rehabilitation, and vocational training to empower people of determination and integrate them into society. The German Ambassador expressed admiration for these efforts, noting their significant impact on enhancing the lives of people with special needs.

Schonfelder's visit highlighted potential collaboration opportunities between Germany and the UAE in supporting people of determination. His engagement with various projects demonstrated a shared commitment to improving vocational training and employment prospects for these individuals.
