GEOSA Achieves Global Recognition With Leadership Award At Geospatial World Forum In Spain

The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) has been honoured with the Global Geospatial Leadership Award at the Geospatial World Forum 2025 in Madrid, Spain. The event was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Spain Princess Haifa bint Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf and GEOSA President Dr. Mohammed bin Yahya Al Sayel.

Founded in 1996, Geospatial World is a prominent non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting awareness of geospatial information. It highlights the importance of geospatial data in tackling societal, environmental, and economic issues. The jury's unanimous decision to award GEOSA underscores the steadfast support from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Their backing has been crucial for advancing the geospatial sector in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman, who chairs GEOSA's Board of Directors, has provided strategic guidance.

Since 2007, the Geospatial World Leadership Awards have been presented by a panel of global experts. These awards recognise outstanding contributions to the geospatial community worldwide. GEOSA's recognition highlights Saudi Arabia's leadership in developing national geospatial infrastructure and governing data according to international standards.
