GEOSA Represents Saudi Arabia As Main Sponsor Of Geospatial Week 2025 Conference In Dubai
The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) of Saudi Arabia is a key sponsor at the Geospatial Week (GSW) 2025 conference. Organised by the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, this event will occur in Dubai from April 7 to 11. The conference aims to foster global collaboration among researchers through workshops and sessions on aerial imaging and remote sensing.
GEOSA's sponsorship reflects its commitment to sharing geospatial knowledge globally. As a member of ISPRS, GEOSA actively promotes international cooperation. Dr. Eng. Mohammed bin Yahya Al Sayel, GEOSA's President, serves as the Arab States' regional representative in ISPRS. This involvement underscores GEOSA's dedication to advancing geospatial insights worldwide.

During the conference, GEOSA will participate in a keynote panel titled "The Role of GEOSA as an Engine for Growth, Governance, Innovation, and Capacity Building for the Geospatial Sector in Saudi Arabia." Additionally, it will chair two sessions focused on presenting Arab scientific papers. These activities highlight GEOSA's role in fostering regional scientific contributions.
GEOSA is committed to developing national capacities by supporting academics and students from Saudi universities at the conference. This initiative allows participants to engage in various sessions and seminars, enhancing their understanding of geospatial technologies. Such efforts are part of GEOSA's broader strategy to build expertise within Saudi Arabia.
The organisation also plans to showcase its achievements at a dedicated pavilion during the exhibition accompanying the conference. This pavilion will highlight Saudi Arabia’s advancements in national geospatial infrastructure and demonstrate how geospatial information supports development sectors and informed decision-making processes.
Regulatory Role and International Representation
GEOSA regulates surveying, geospatial information, and imaging sectors within Saudi Arabia. It coordinates with international counterparts to ensure effective governance of these areas. By representing Saudi Arabia both nationally and internationally, GEOSA plays a crucial role in aligning with global standards and practices.
The participation of GEOSA at GSW 2025 exemplifies its strategic focus on promoting international engagement while enhancing local capabilities in geospatial fields. Through such initiatives, GEOSA aims to strengthen its position as a leader in geospatial innovation and governance.
