GEOSA Represents Saudi Arabia As Main Sponsor Of Geospatial Week 2025 Conference In Dubai
The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) from Saudi Arabia will be a main sponsor at the Geospatial Week (GSW) 2025 conference. This event, organised by the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) alongside the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, is set to occur in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from April 7 to 11.
GEOSA's involvement as a primary sponsor highlights its dedication to fostering knowledge exchange and sharing global geospatial insights. This commitment aligns with its membership in ISPRS and the role of Dr. Eng. Mohammed bin Yahya Al Sayel, GEOSA's President, who serves as the regional representative for the Arab States within the Society.

The conference aims to enhance communication among researchers and experts worldwide by exchanging experiences and developments. It will feature sessions and workshops on aerial imaging and remote sensing activities. These initiatives offer valuable opportunities for international engagement and increasing geospatial awareness.
GEOSA will actively participate in a keynote panel titled "The Role of GEOSA as an Engine for Growth, Governance, Innovation, and Capacity Building for the Geospatial Sector in Saudi Arabia." Additionally, it will chair two sessions focused on presenting Arab scientific papers.
Supporting national capacity building is a priority for GEOSA. It encourages participation from academics and students from Saudi universities in various conference sessions, seminars, and activities. This involvement aims to enhance their understanding of geospatial technologies.
In addition to these efforts, GEOSA will have a pavilion at the exhibition accompanying the conference. Here, it will showcase Saudi Arabia’s experience in developing national geospatial infrastructure and highlight how geospatial information supports development sectors and informed decision-making.
International Collaboration
GEOSA's organisational mandate includes regulating surveying, geospatial information, and imaging sectors within Saudi Arabia. It coordinates with international counterparts to represent the Kingdom on matters within its jurisdiction both nationally and internationally.
A panel session titled "Artificial Intelligence Horizons: How Will Machine Learning Redefine the Boundaries of Earth Observation?" will also see participation from GEOSA. This session explores how AI can transform earth observation practices.
The GSW 2025 conference offers a platform for global collaboration among experts in photogrammetry and remote sensing fields. Through its sponsorship and active participation, GEOSA aims to strengthen ties with international entities while promoting advancements in geospatial technology.
