GEOSA And Singapore Land Authority Unveil Achievements Of Geospatial System Project For National Development
The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) and the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) have unveiled the results of their joint project aimed at enhancing geospatial systems. This collaboration is part of GEOSA's strategy to build a strong national geospatial infrastructure, aligning with international standards to boost the sustainable impact of geospatial data across various sectors.
GEOSA President Mohammed bin Yahya Al Sayel highlighted the significance of ongoing collaboration and knowledge sharing between GEOSA and SLA. He acknowledged the joint working group's vital role in achieving project success from 2023 to 2025. Al Sayel also praised the productive partnership with the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC).

This partnership exemplifies effective global cooperation, integrating geospatial information into public, private, academic, and non-profit sectors while advancing national development goals. The project has strengthened ties between the Arab Committee of Experts, led by Saudi Arabia, and the UN Asian Committee of Experts on Geospatial Information Management, represented by Singapore.
The Arab Committee provided insights on developing geospatial governance and infrastructure. Meanwhile, the Asian Committee shared expertise in disaster management and land administration. This exchange has been crucial in enhancing both regions' capabilities in these areas.
A significant moment during the event was the release of a detailed publication outlining achievements from 2023 to 2025. The document is organized around five main pillars: geospatial standards, platforms, data, intelligence, and excellence. These pillars represent the core areas where progress has been made through this collaboration.
In recognition of its efforts, GEOSA received the Excellence in Geospatial Development Award from the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE). SCE is responsible for supporting Singapore's international partnerships and development initiatives.
This award underscores GEOSA's contributions to advancing geospatial development through its work with SLA. The partnership not only benefits both countries but also sets a precedent for future international collaborations in geospatial information management.
