GEOSA Engages As Strategic Sponsor At Geospatial World Forum 2025 In Madrid
The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) is taking part as a strategic sponsor in the Geospatial World Forum (GWF 2025). This event is being held in Madrid, Spain, from April 22 to 25. The forum serves as a key platform for the global geospatial community, bringing together leaders, experts, and specialists to discuss cooperation and investment strategies.
GEOSA's participation includes a dedicated pavilion showcasing its efforts in building and developing national geospatial infrastructure. They focus on governing national geospatial data and preparing policies, standards, and specifications aligned with international best practices. Their aim is to enhance geospatial awareness and knowledge while promoting research and innovation.

During the forum, GEOSA will conduct a workshop titled "Saudi Arabia's Geospatial Ecosystem." This session will highlight the Kingdom's experience in enhancing the impact of geospatial data through integration with emerging technologies. It will also discuss the role of the UN Global Geospatial Ecosystem Center of Excellence, which has its headquarters approved in Riyadh.
In addition to this workshop, GEOSA will participate in a panel session on "Geospatial Law and Policy: Possible Regulatory Frameworks for Data Governance, Privacy Protection, and Integration of Artificial Intelligence Technologies." Here, they will present "The Kingdom's Experience in Geospatial Law," sharing insights into regulatory frameworks.
GEOSA will also deliver a presentation titled "The Kingdom’s Activities and Innovations in Hydrographic Surveying." This presentation aims to showcase Saudi Arabia's advancements in this field. It highlights how these innovations contribute to various sectors and national development fields by maximizing the impact of geospatial information.
The authority plays a crucial role in regulating surveying, geospatial information, and imaging within Saudi Arabia. It coordinates with counterparts globally and represents the Kingdom both internally and externally concerning its mandates. This involvement underscores GEOSA's commitment to fostering international cooperation.
The forum provides an opportunity for GEOSA to promote integration between geospatial information and modern technologies. This integration supports smart decision-making across different sectors. By participating actively in such events, GEOSA aims to stimulate research and innovation while enhancing global collaboration.
Through these initiatives at GWF 2025, GEOSA seeks to share its experiences and learn from other countries' expertise. The goal is to advance the future of geospatial information infrastructure worldwide. Their participation reflects Saudi Arabia's dedication to becoming a leader in the geospatial domain.
