General Directorate Of Residency And Foreigners Affairs In Dubai Unveils Smart Projects At GITEX Global 2024
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai will participate in GITEX Global 2024. This event is scheduled at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 14th to 18th October. The Directorate plans to unveil eight smart projects aimed at boosting digital transformation and enhancing customer experiences.
Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General, stated, "In line with Dubai’s vision to enhance its position as a global hub for innovation and artificial intelligence, we are preparing to introduce a range of smart solutions that contribute to simplifying the lives of community members and enhancing the experience of residents and visitors." He emphasised the importance of showcasing technological advancements at this prestigious event.

The exhibition will serve as a platform for unveiling new competitions and initiatives. It reflects the Directorate's dedication to adopting technology for improving life quality and customer satisfaction. Al Marri added, "We are keen to showcase pioneering projects that aim to position Dubai as a global centre for technology and to strengthen digital transformation."
Lieutenant Colonel Expert Khaled bin Mediya Al Falasi, Deputy Assistant Director for Smart Services, highlighted the role of advanced technology in boosting service efficiency. He said, "At the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, we strive to develop innovative systems that aim to provide proactive and seamless services that meet customer expectations, using the latest artificial intelligence and big data technologies to support decision-making and accelerate procedures."
Among the showcased projects is "Seamless Travel," which uses facial recognition for border passage without stopping. This project aims to improve travel efficiency. The "Pre-Registration Service" allows travellers to register biometric data before arriving in Dubai.
Enhancing Customer Experience
The Directorate will also present the "AI-Powered Digital Assistant" system. This system offers immediate service support using artificial intelligence techniques. Additionally, the "Customer Sentiment Analysis System" analyses facial expressions and voice data to gauge customer satisfaction.
Another highlight is the "Mobile Dock," a tablet designed for easy biometric registration for travellers. These innovations aim to streamline processes and enhance user experience.
Promoting Digital Awareness
To promote digital awareness, a Cybersecurity Hackathon will be organised by the Directorate. This initiative targets university students, aiming to raise awareness about digital protection and combating cyber threats.
These initiatives underscore Dubai's commitment to becoming a leader in technology and innovation. By participating in GITEX Global 2024, the Directorate aims to demonstrate its dedication to enhancing digital transformation while improving services for residents and visitors alike.
