Dubai's General Directorate Of Identity And Foreigners Affairs Launches 8th ICEQ Conference On AI Innovations In Education

The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai is hosting the 8th International Conference on Quality in Education (ICEQ) during Dubai AI Week. This event, titled "AI Innovations: Future Foresight for Empowering Public Institutions and Enhancing Educational Quality," will occur from 22nd to 24th April 2025. The first day will be at Grand Hyatt Dubai, with subsequent days at the GDRFA headquarters in Al Jafiliya.

The conference aims to explore how AI innovations can empower government institutions and enhance educational quality. It will delve into future transformations in AI, focusing on its role in public service development and education. The event highlights cutting-edge technologies that improve institutional efficiency and promote smart learning.

Dubai Launches 8th ICEQ Conference on AI Innovations

Over 200 research papers have been submitted by local and international researchers, including university students. The scientific committee has finalised the agenda, which includes discussion topics and selected papers. More than 500 participants are expected, including AI leaders, education researchers, professionals, and students eager to present specialised research or engage in discussions.

The conference will feature keynote presentations and panel discussions with distinguished speakers from government and academic institutions. One keynote presentation titled "How Major Universities are Building Their AI Capabilities – A Case Study in Collaboration with Dell" will explore how academic institutions can use AI tools to develop digital-first curricula.

Another keynote, "Independent Government Services Powered by Generative AI," will demonstrate how generative AI is integrated into government services to boost operational efficiency. Additionally, "AI Innovations on Google Cloud: Enabling Government and Education" will highlight the latest advancements on Google Cloud supporting government and academic sectors.

Workshops and Student Participation

Specialised workshops will be part of the conference, focusing on improving education quality through artificial intelligence technologies. These sessions aim to strengthen public institutions using modern tech-driven solutions. Students from various universities have submitted over 40 AI projects so far, with submissions open until the end of March via the official conference platform.

The first panel discussion, "Using AI Smartly in Education," will examine strategies for leveraging AI to create interactive teaching tools that enhance learning outcomes. Meanwhile, the second panel discussion, "AI for Empowering Public Institutions," will explore strategic deployment of AI technologies to improve institutional performance.
