General Court Of Audit Engages As Second Vice-Chair At INTOSAI Governing Board Meeting

The General Court of Audit (GCA) took part in the 79th Meeting of the Governing Board of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI). This meeting was part of the 25th General Assembly hosted by Egypt. The GCA participated as the Second Vice-Chair of INTOSAI, joining heads and representatives from Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of member countries.

Dr. Hussam Alangari, President of the General Court of Audit, delivered a report on the activities of the INTOSAI Policies, Finance, and Administration Committee (PFAC) and the INTOSAI-Donor Cooperation Steering Committee (IDSC). Dr. Alangari chairs both committees. His report emphasised their roles in promoting INTOSAI’s Strategic Plan objectives.

GCA Participates in INTOSAI Meeting

The meeting included discussions on several significant topics and reports. These included the Report of the Chair of the Governing Board on the organization's activities and the Report of the General Secretariat on INTOSAI’s financial and administrative status. These reports provided insights into the organisation's current standing and future directions.

Additionally, reports from the Chairs of the INTOSAI Goal Committees were reviewed. These included the Capacity Building Committee (CBC) and the Professional Standards Committee (PSC). The INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) report and updates from the INTOSAI Regional Organizations were also discussed, highlighting ongoing efforts and developments within the organisation.

The INTOSAI Governing Board plays a crucial role in overseeing the implementation of the organisation’s Strategic Plan. It supports various committees, issues executive decisions, and endorses proposed policies and initiatives. These are then submitted to the General Assembly for approval, ensuring alignment with the organisation's goals.

The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration among member countries. It highlighted the need for continued efforts to advance the objectives of INTOSAI’s Strategic Plan.
