General Authority For Defense Development Partners With KAUST To Boost Defence Research And Innovation
The General Authority for Defense Development (GADD) has entered into an agreement to join the Industrial Collaboration Program at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). This membership is designed to boost research and knowledge sharing, as well as develop technical and innovative capabilities in defense development.
According to a statement from GADD, KAUST’s Industrial Collaboration Program serves as a platform that encourages partnerships between government bodies, private companies, and academic institutions. It offers access to a sophisticated research environment that includes top scientists, world-class laboratories, and the university’s technologies and intellectual property.

GADD's involvement in the program provides several benefits. These include direct access to cutting-edge research, participation in scientific seminars and major events, and opportunities for joint research initiatives with the university and other program members. This collaboration aims to keep GADD at the forefront of scientific trends.
Dr. Faleh Al-Suleiman, Governor of GADD, highlighted that this initiative aligns with efforts to strengthen ties with national universities in defense development. He stated it helps bridge gaps between universities, research centers, and military industries, contributing to a cohesive national system for innovation in the defense sector.
Dr. Al-Suleiman emphasized KAUST's role as a leading model in research due to its advanced capabilities and infrastructure. He noted that working with KAUST will support GADD's goals of enhancing Saudi Arabia's standing in advanced defense technologies while building national human resources and research capabilities.
