General Authority Implements Advanced Crowd Management Strategies For Safe Hajj Season
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque plays a crucial role in managing crowds during Hajj. It collaborates with other entities to ensure pilgrims' safety by providing decision-makers with advanced tools like counting sensors. These sensors offer real-time data on movement density, aiding in effective crowd management.
To enhance crowd control, the authority uses guidance screens and signboards within the Grand Mosque and its courtyards. These tools help direct pilgrims efficiently, ensuring smooth movement throughout the area. By coordinating with relevant agencies, specific entrances are designated for pilgrims to maintain balanced crowd distribution.

The authority also focuses on guiding worshippers through designated routes for Tawaf and Sa’i rituals. Prayer areas are organized based on capacity, and volunteers play an active role in assisting crowd movement. They provide multilingual support services to cater to the diverse needs of pilgrims.
Instructional booklets in over 25 languages are distributed to promote awareness among pilgrims. Additionally, guidance and warning messages are broadcasted via screens across the Grand Mosque and its courtyards. These measures aim to reduce unnecessary gatherings and prevent movement against designated flow routes.
Special attention is given to elderly individuals and those with disabilities. Dedicated prayer areas equipped with necessary services are prepared for them. Special access routes are established to ensure their safe movement within the mosque premises.
The mosque’s courtyards are equipped with ventilation systems, flooring, and essential services to optimize these spaces for crowd distribution. This setup helps in maintaining a comfortable environment for all visitors while ensuring efficient crowd management.
By implementing these strategies, the authority aims to create a safe and organized environment for all pilgrims during Hajj rituals. The focus remains on enhancing awareness and facilitating smooth movement within the sacred sites.
