GEA Honors Emerging Saudi Comedians In Comedy Factory Initiative Finale
The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) CEO Eng. Faisal Bafarat attended the closing ceremony of the Comedy Factory Initiative at Boulevard Riyadh City. The event marked the end of a four-month period dedicated to discovering and nurturing comedic talents.
Dr. Hassan Al-Balam, leader of the Comedy Factory Initiative team, highlighted the essential support from GEA Board of Directors Chairman Turki bin Abdulmohsen Alalshikh. He stated, "The initiative would not have been successful without his belief in the Comedy Factory concept and diligent pursuit of its details." Dr. Al-Balam also mentioned that clear goals were set for establishing a Saudi youth comedy theatre.

During the ceremony, students showcased their skills through performances in two plays written by fellow graduates: "The Enchanted Chair" and "Alzheimer." These performances demonstrated their training in impersonation, performance, and diction. Certificates were awarded to all students, while faculty members received commemorative shields from Bafarat.
Outstanding students were honoured with shields for their exceptional contributions. Ghazwa Al-Mansour, Haitham Habib Al Ahmed, Othman Khalid Al-Nassar, and Nawaf Al-Qahtani were recognised for script writing. In acting, Haifa Ibrahim, Abeer Fahd, Noura Abdullah, Sultan Mohammed Al-Faisal, Nasser bin Thani Al-Anazi, Omar bin Hamad Al-Qahtani, and Abdullah Al-Osaimi received accolades.
The initiative provided Saudi youths with opportunities to display their comedic talents and creative writing abilities. They expanded their skills under the guidance of academic practitioners and specialists in the field of art.
