The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) has partnered with Canadian University Dubai to enhance creativity and innovation. This collaboration aims to build national capabilities and develop joint educational and research programs, supporting sustainable development and customer satisfaction.
The agreement was signed during the "Elite Education Gateway 2025" exhibition, which GDRFA Dubai organised. This event featured participation from prominent local and international universities. It aimed to empower students by introducing them to academic opportunities both within the UAE and abroad, aligning higher education programs with labour market demands and the aspirations of younger generations.

Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of GDRFA Dubai, signed the agreement alongside Butti Saeed Al Kindi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Canadian University Dubai. The partnership involves exchanging expertise, conducting studies, organising field visits, training courses, workshops, and developing educational programs. Special discounts for GDRFA Dubai employees and their first-degree relatives are also included.
Canadian University Dubai students will participate in GDRFA Dubai’s innovation labs under this agreement. This involvement will allow them to work on research and applied projects that align with Dubai’s future digital service goals. The collaboration aims to prepare students for real-world challenges through practical experiences.
Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri highlighted that this partnership underscores GDRFA Dubai’s dedication to integrating government and academic sectors. He stated that it promotes knowledge exchange while preparing national talents capable of leading institutional development. "We are building bridges of cooperation with leading educational institutions," he said.
Butti Saeed Al Kindi expressed pride in this partnership, noting it as a model of constructive collaboration between education and public service. He emphasised its role in helping students develop skills through real-world environments and joint projects. "We value this collaboration with GDRFA Dubai," he remarked.
