GCC Joint Program Production Institution 50th Anniversary Celebrated In Kuwait City

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi highlighted the long-term impact of the GCC Joint Program Production Institution (GCCJPPI), stressing that its media work supports education, awareness, and Gulf identity. Albudaiwi underlined that media content which is responsible and purposeful is essential for development and for dealing with fast regional and global changes.

During a ceremony in Kuwait City marking the 50th anniversary of the GCCJPPI, attended by ministers and senior officials, Albudaiwi joined celebrations of the institution’s legacy. The event, reported by SPA, reflected the importance that GCC countries attach to cooperative media work and to institutions that represent shared Gulf interests.

Albudaiwi stated that the GCCJPPI is not just a production house for media material, but a key Gulf institution that uses media to build awareness, deepen Gulf identity, and encourage unity and integration among citizens of GCC states. The institution, according to Albudaiwi, supports social cohesion through content that mirrors common culture and values.

Reflecting on the institution’s performance since its creation, Albudaiwi said it has become a distinguished media platform that strengthens Gulf identity and promotes shared principles. He noted that its high-quality programmes present an authentic picture of Gulf society, speaking to different generations and age groups across various stages of their lives.

At the beginning of the speech, Albudaiwi expressed gratitude to Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Albudaiwi thanked the Amir for generous care and continuing support for hosting the GCC headquarters and its institutions in Kuwait, describing this as proof of Kuwait’s firm, historic commitment to joint Gulf action.

Albudaiwi also reflected on the media sector’s broader task in GCC societies, saying that outlets must help development goals while tracking ongoing transformations. He stressed that this responsibility includes producing content that is conscious, influential, and aligned with community needs, especially as the region interacts with changing global political, economic, and social conditions.
