First GCC Youth Games Open: A Platform For Unity And Nurturing Talent

H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, recently underscored the pivotal role of GCC sports tournaments in elevating the international profile of sports within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and in strengthening bonds among the region's youth. His remarks were made during the inauguration of the inaugural GCC Youth Games, an event that not only highlights athletic prowess but also emphasizes themes of sustainability, cohesion, and youth engagement. The ceremony, graced by various dignitaries, marked the beginning of a competition that sees 3,500 athletes vying for top honors across 24 sports disciplines.

The Games, which kicked off on April 16th and will conclude on May 2nd, have attracted a significant number of participants supported by 300 volunteers and 100 media personnel. Sheikh Mansoor lauded the athletes' commitment to leveraging these competitions as a means for fostering competition, friendship, and cooperation. He extended a warm welcome to the national delegations and applauded the exceptional performances and medal achievements thus far.
